I don't know what that email said. It may have been one of those generic messages sent to everyone who has signed up for emails.

There is no point in trying to use an app if it does not support your hardware.

Netgear may not update the genie, but it works now.

Apps are tied to firmware. If Netgear updates your firmware, you may be able to switch to the Nighthawk app.

But we still do not know what you actually want to use an app to do.
