Nighthawk app wifi network access problems

I recently downloaded the Nighthawk app since the former Genie app no longer works. Recently, our two sons couldn't get on our house wifi network until I 'authorized' them via the Nighthawk app. They each had the correct network password. Moreso, both of their devices (laptop and Xbox) had been on our home network in the past! 
I cannot find anywhere in the app where people can automatically join if they have the password without having to authorize them via the Nighthawk app.

    Hi wind_lass, welcome to the community! The Nighthawk app will not block previously connected devices and new devices from connecting. You can, however, Pause/Unpause the Internet of connected devices under the Device List tile. Can you please provide a screenshot of the page wherein authorization is required for devices that want to connect to the network?
