Nighthawk app will not log in

I have a CAX30 that has worked in the past, just lost power and had connection issues throughout the day.  I reset the router to try to reset the admin password for the nighthawk app and using the generic password or the one I use for netgear doesnt log into the app.  It just cycles for a minute and then stays on the login page.  I deleted the app and reinstalled to no avail.  Logging in to netgear website works fine but I'm trying to gain access to the network through mobile.

    By " netgear website" do you mean the browser graphical user interface (GUI)?

     

    If so, does that mean that you can successfully manage the modem/router there?

    Is that the password for "admin", the router's GUI?

     

    Is the app connected to the local WiFi? You need to do that before you get to the bit where you enter the admin password.

      by netgear website I actually meant Routerlogin.net, Using that site I can access all of the settings for the network.  

       

      What I meant by the generic password is for the nighthawk app login screen it defaults to 

      ADMIN

      password

       

      for the first time logging in.

      I have tried the default and the password I set in routerlogin.net with no success in being able to access the settings through the nighthawk app.  The phone is connected to the wifi network but just shows the loading wheel for a few seconds and then stays on the same screen.  Tried resetting device, re installing app, using different phone.. nothing

        That's not so much a website as the browser graphical user interface (GUI) that lets you into the control panel for the modem/router.

         

        You could try aiming your browser at 192.168.1.1.

         

        As the CAX30 is a cable modem/router, if it is in bridge mode, try 192.168.100.1.

        Are you saying that you can access the router browser GUI but cannot get the app to work?

         

        Which app is this? Android or iOS?

         

        Can you use the WiFi for other stuff? Is it just the Nighthawk app that fails?
