Nighthawk iOS app doesn’t respond when renaming devices

I purchased a second hand one of these and it arrived yesterday, setup was quite easy.

I started renaming my devices and choosing icons for them, and this was going quite well.

I noticed that my surface couldn’t connect to the 5ghz and I fixed that by changing the channel.

When I went to rename devices in the nighthawk app it would no longer do this, just whirly wheel of wait and then when I restarted the app it wouldn’t connect and I’d have to reboot the router to get it to work again.

If I go in to access control of the router I can sometimes change the devices in there, but not always.

Does anyone have the same issue? Any fixes?

Firmware : v1.0.4.102 (North America, even though I live in Europe...)
