Nighthawk R7960P 2.4ghz slow speeds and 5.0ghz are great
Upgraded my internet last spring to 300 mbps. I have charter/spectrum. 5.0ghz is getting the higher speed tests 210 mbps. 2.4ghz is still between 50 to 70 mbps download. I have updated the firmware, tried different channels. No results. I see that there is another thread with the same issue, but with no resolution.

there isn't a "solution" .
Reason why is 2.4ghz is a slow network. Hitting 70mbps is actually pretty good for home usages. The only times I've gotten faster is with AX setup and even that was just over 100mbps.
2.4ghz is a much slower network and its sensitive to interference. But it does broadcast further and through more materials than 5ghz.
its why 5ghz was brought around. Higher bandwidth needs.
