No app working

This is not right. This is the second item. I buy that says Nighthawk on the box 7800. I spend almost $400.

I get home. I get excited. I start downloading it activating it with Xfinity and then I found out it's not compatible with the Nighthawk app But the box says Nighthawk that is false advertising or in some State. It's called Bay and switch. That is not cool. I bought a product thinking it's going to work with something and it's not it's not a Nighthawk. Why are you calling it that?

    Does it say "Nighthawk app" on the box or in the manual? Nighthawk is a generic name that Netgear slaps on all manner of devices.

     

    The Nighthawk app, is just one of the things with that label. This does not mean that the Nighthawk app will work with all Nighthawk devices. Some Nighthawk devices don't support any sort of app.

     

    To work with a modem,router or modem/router, there has to be be updated firmware on the device. Unfortunately, cable modem routers don't allow this. ISPs won't let Netgear near to most cable devices. Sadly, most ISPs won't update them for you either.

    The manual says that the Netgear Genie supports the C7800. Have you tried that? A lot of people prefer it to the Nighthawk app because it supports more features.
