Hi Michael
It is NOT asking for a password.
The nighthawk app automatically opens my wifi settings for my router.
I's that the way it suppose to work ???
Does not seem very secure

To access your router with the Nighthawk app, the first thing you do is connect to the wifi. That needs a password and is your first level of security.
When you first connect, it will ask you for the router's own password, the one you also use when you connect to the browser graphical user interface (GUI).
Like the wifi password, your phone will remember the password. (Do you really want to enter the wifi password every time you connect?)
If you are on a remote session, with the Nighthawk App using the Internet to make the connection, again you have the usernamd and password on MyNetgear as protection. Again, do you wan t to fill in those details every time you connect?
The Nighthawk App is behaving like everything else you use a phone with. It is no more and no less secure than anythng else you use, possibly more so because you have several layers of password to negotiate, wifi, MyNetgear and router.
Your phone is just being helpful by remembering them.
