I'm trying to toggle the guest wifi feature to "on" through the nighthawk app. Been using this router / app for over 5 years. Now I'm being asked to "update WiFi credentials". What does this mean?...

Enable any Guest Network using the routers web page.
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

I did the factory reset this afternoon. Did it via rear "push point" on the router. Deleted and downloaded app again. Finished setup through the app. One change noted from previous setup is the password character requirements for the router login (caps, lower case, numbers, special if desired). This was different from previous setup. I've tried the functions on the app and all seem to be working. Did not try the original problem of "guest access' setting. Just want to leave that sleep dog lie. PC interface also works although it never stopped working. For now, I'm calling it done. I'm keeping the same WiFi password simply to avoid changing all the devises and connections.
Thanks.
