R8000P router and Nighthawk app
Anyone else having issues with the R8000P router? I have to complete factory reset it every other month and it's annoying AF! It'll work fine then it won't connect to the app. Then the app will tell me I can't log in. I reset works fine and cycle starts all over a month latet. It's updated to latest firmware. I just don't get it. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Solutions? Is the R8000P outdated?? Should I ditch it and upgrade?

Why are you resetting it?
It'll work fine then it won't connect to the app. Then the app will tell me I can't log in.The router does not connect to the app. It is the other way round. The app connects to the router. You might need to troubeshoot that?
Which app is this? iOS? Android?
Then the usual boilerplate questions to eliminate some of the more common issues that crop up here.
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". There may be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware with an app or in the browser interface.
If there is one it might also help if you told people the make and model number of the modem/gateway/ONT that connects this router to the Internet. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
I ask because a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
Just another user with time on their hands.
I'd agree with michaelkenward details are needed to better help.
It could be an aged device (released in 2014) or it could simple be a poor setup causing issues. Tough to know without knowing whats happening exactly, the details on your setup, and your devices details.
