From one old fogey to another, I never use phones to set things up. Go back to the tried and trusted browser method. Plug the creature into a PC and take it from there.

you can feed in the model number and find all the documentation for your hardware.
AC1200 is not a reliable guide to the model number. Many devices come with an AC tag, it is essentially a label that Netgear, and other brands, attach to hardware to describe wifi speeds.
If you own the R6120 variant of the ac1200, as pre the footer, get the manual for that and read the section "Connect to the Network and Access the Router".
