Turn router off

Needing help with turning the router off using my computer. The app only does a reboot and when you are trying to limit kids and adults internet time without them knowing a reboot only lasts 2 minutes. And blocking the device is not an option because it shows up on their phones and internet has been blocked, and doesn't fully work anyways. I have found a router log on website which is for setting up the router. There has to be a way to do this. Turning the wifi off on my computer only affects my computer, not the entire house

Would have to be done behind the router if there is a power ON OFF button. Can't be turned off from a app. If not, then you'll need to get a power timer or some remote power switch that you can turn OFF the power to the router.

Which router is this? Many routers have a switch on the top that doubles as a Wi-Fi indicator. Just press that and the kids are disconnected, along with everyone else.

Your call, but the general advice is to leave a router on all the time. The theory is that the act of switching things on and off is more likely to cause failures than an "always on" regime.

Netgear has anticipated this scenario and offers subscriptions to Smart Parental Controls that let you schedule on/off time.
