Yes. That one came up a few years ago, I thought it had been squished.
Do you have the latest version of the app? Which one are you on iOS or Android?
I’m reaching out because I use a 3rd party app on my fire stick and suddenly it no longer connects to my internet. Everything else works fine though, just not that. I was advised to check if any security things have changed randomly through the app but can’t reach anything. Any suggestions will help thank you!
No idea who advised you to do that, but I would not expect the app to be much help. It has very limited capability. It certainly cannot do much with "security things", whatever they may be.
You get more control with a web browser and the graphical user interface (GUI).
Rather than looking for possibly irrelevant solutions, start by explaining what problems you have with this anonymous third party app.
It is easy to scream "router" whenever you have a problem. Suppliers of third party stuff, even ISPs, will certainly try to pass the buck in that direction. In reality there can be many other ways of breaking stuff.
