Unable to create a free OpenDNS account

I am currently trying to open a free OpenDNS account on Netgear Genie.  I am using a Netgear R6100 router, and setting up the  new account on Mac OS 10.10.5.  My problem is after I enter my username,...

Hi, I am also unable to create a DNS account (router DGN2200V1, with latest firmare , 1.0.0.50, but i don think it has anything to do?)

This issue should be fixed now. Please try creating your new OpenDNS account again.

    Hi nathKent,

     

    Please make sure that the username is available. Also, make sure that the password contains an upper case, lower case, number, and special character. If all password requirements are met and it still won't proceed, try creating a password that is exactly 15 characters long.

    Hi, 

     

    I downloaded the android app on my smartphone and were able to create an DNS account (you will nee upper case, number, lower case and special symbol).

    Then back on the computer and log in the newly created account.

    if you have a second hand netgear, you may also need to ask them to deregister the device from the old owner account.
