Usb no longer recoginsed or working

Question

I have been using readyshare without a problem for 3 months. Now my usb is not being recognised as being plugged in. I have updated and reloaded netgear genie and readyshare software but it has not fixed it. The problem is not with the portable hdd because it is still working when plugged into other devices.

I tried this. It didn't work. The Usb lights on the d7000 don't light up or only stay lit up for a minute before turning off. I don't think it even recognises the usbs at all anymore
