Vulnerabilities

I have two NAS drives and every time Net Gear NightHawk APP does a vulnerability scan it shows four vulnerabilities. 3 on my Buffalo Technology Drive and 1 on my Western Digital WDMYCLOUDEX2. The warnings on my  Buffalo are Admin Account Access Vulnerabilty detected,Device Hijack Vulnerabilty and Device Update Highly Recommended. The warning on my  Western Digital Drive is Devce Update Highly Recommended. I have updated firmware on both drives, updated frimware on my router and and I believe an updated version of my NetGear NIghthawk phone app. I am using NetGear Armour on my router but I am not using Bitdefender on my PCs as I am am using Norton. I have spoken with Western Digital and they tell me their device is secure.

Only other thing I can add is my router and NAS Drives use the same password. Also I might add my Brother MFC-J6945DW started printing out 3 pages with my curl commands which I think you are aware of that and working on a fix. Thank You.

    Hi Ellisf,

May you check to see if changing the password on your NAS drives helps. Please try setting the NAS drives to each have a different password.

    Thanks,

    Christian

Unfortunately I just got around to changing passwords this morning and it already had scanned so I will have to wait and see. One thing I noticed in todays scan was the Nighthawk App is still sending curl commands to my printers and wasting paper and ink. Can anything be done about that or are we still awaiting a fix? Thanks.

    Hi Ellisf,

My suggestion would be to update the passwords on the NAS devices not a good idea to use same password as the router. Also check the NAS manufacturer website for fw/sw update for your NAS devices it should help with the issue you are seeing.
