Windows 10 will not open latest version 2.4.16.00 of genie.

V2.3.1.57 works fine under windows 10. Is netgear Investigating and issuing fixes?

V 2.3.1.57 is also failing to work with windows 10.  No amount of removing the current version, removing all entries in the registry, rebooting and re-applying 2.3 or 2.4.16 will work.  The application simply fails to work and windows tells me the application is not valid or compatible with windows 10.

 

Dexter...if you are looking in, please let me know what is going on.  I can only assume 2.4.16 is not compatible with windows 10 on my HP pavilion laptop.  I had no problem until I moved to windows 10, and initially resolved my issue by installing the earlier version, but that has also stopped working now..

You can try installing version 2.4.12 as a temporary work around since it has worked for most, if not all, who are on Windows 10. You can use the download link below.

    I used the link provided.  It ask for a file code.  I used 2.4.12  It did not work....

        Version 2.4.16 will also not work on my new HP x360 Envy with Windows 10.  I need a link to version 2.4.12 please

    Genie is not working on my windows 10 can you please give the link for 2.4.12 version? As the link you provided earlier is not active now.

      Dexter, I was able to download the 2.4.12 version, now Genie works with Windows 10.

        I also downloaded latest version from support and it worked on Win 10 Pro 64 with R8000

    I have the same problem as others have stated. Genie will not run ... your fix... the link has expired.

      Hi @saliemster,

       

      You may follow the temporary work around for this issue.

      1. Uninstall the NETGEAR Genie program from the computer/device.
      2. Download the previous version (2.4.12) of the NETGEAR Genie.

      Download link:

      3. Install the program and check if it functions correctly.
      4. Locate the drivers folder under C:\Program Files\NETGEAR Genie\bin and copy it to the desktop.
      5. Download and install the latest version of NETGEAR Genie again using the download link below.

      http://netgear.com/home/discover/apps/genie/aspx

      6. Look for the same folder under the same location and delete the folder.
      7. Replace the folder with the folder that you pasted on the desktop from the working version of NETGEAR Genie.
      8. Close the NETGEAR Genie program through the system tray.
      9. Re-open the NETGEAR Genie program and check if it works.
      10. The version number may display 2.4.12 since it is using the drivers for that version.

        I have recently installed the most recent version 2.4.20 (which the site said was 2.5.1), and it finally works on my computer.
