Meural Canvas Upload failure
My Meural will not allow me to upload any photos even though I still have storage. I get the message “Upload failure: Could not prepare data” or simply “Some items failed to upload”. Any help?

Similar problem with me. I cannot use the Meural app on the iPhone or iPad to upload whole series of iCloud shared album images (perhaps from a certain date or iCloud member) to a playlist or to the main library first. A single image upload or multiple images fail. However if I login into Meural using the browser on the iPhone or iPad, it works. So the issue is with the HEIC format and the way the app parses these from certain types of iCloud albums, notably shared albums I can view. Also once uploaded using the browser method, the image title is a large hex string like this B22C9531-6ED3-4984-A23B-C1FD1627AB77 and not the original photo details, so not very helpful when swiping up for details. Given I cannot bulk edit the titles within the Meural app, I will need to delete them all and upload again when there’s a fix and they can be added via the app.

Just a heads up that HEIC format photos from Apple Photos still won’t upload into Meural linked albums despite a few iOS and Meural app updates since this issue began. I chased my original case and was told it was still being investigated. I guess there isn’t much call for this feature.
The workaround is too clumsy - convert all the Apple photos to JPEG. However this means exporting them from Photos in order to convert them and then importing them back into Photos in a new album that you can then link to Meural. This also means unnecessary duplication in your Photos library. The other option is to change the default format on your source iPhone so all future photos taken are JPEG, avoiding Apple’s standard and preferred default format.
Meural still claim HEIC is supported. In fact it probably is for some workflows, just not linked albums from iCloud.
