Meural for more than art?

I've owned a Meural canvas for 3 or 4 years now, and still enjoy it everyday!  However, as much as I love looking at art work or family photos, I've always thought the Meural canvas could be useful for displaying other information. For example:

 

- Today's News headlines

- Moving weather map

- Latest earthquake info (triggered after it occurs in your area)

- Amber alert

 

I know there are a few API integration projects out there, but I've not seen anything like this. Has anyone created such a tool?

    Nice suggestions - I have a Tidbyt for displaying other information like that, but it’s a great idea to extend the Meural’s functionality beyond photos and art work.

    A great use case... If Amazon goes beyond the Echo 15" and produces a 27" version, if Netgear has not made this more functional, there will be little reason to buy this...
