Meural not connecting to wifi, so tried Meural fix: now meural will not boot past startup screen

Have failed in contacting getting response from "support", so I am hoping someone here can help (maybe even netgear!)

Any ideas how to get past my current Meural very first bootup screen when it does not respond to any "wave" command attempts, which the app tells me I must use to reconnect?

Any ideas how to make it at least "play" the inserted SD card of images?

Otherwise, I have a $600 "brick".

Thanks  in advance to any wizard guru geeks that have ideas.

To restate for clarity; My steps are turn on meural and it advances to showing its special wifi channel in upper right corner; I connect to it on iphone app via the special mural wifi channel successfully. App tries to reset meurals wifi, but fails, saying I must use the Meural "wave" commands on the meural for next steps. The Meural does not respond to the wave commands and the iphone app offers no additonal options.

    Hello billbane,

You may perform a factory reset on your Meual by holding down on the reset button and running through the setup assistant again.

I am in same boat.  Had to change wifi, attempted to reset wifi on Canvas, purple brick with wifi network in upper right corner.

App says use hand gestures, but alas, it does not like those at the moment.

App also still shows I have a canvas, but it can't get to it.

Just do factory reset, everything says

First, why are there zero pictures on the internet of the back of Canvas One to show where reset button is?

Or, anything else.  Shouldn't this be in the manual?

Reset instructions: Hold 20 pound awkward (but expensive) object, then insert something in a hole that is not marked so you are not sure you have the right hole, the hole (if its the right one) is 4 times the size of the button inside, and the button is off center, then while holding the button in, plug in the frame with your third and forth hand, count to 20, and let go.

Then, it just goes back to purple screen anyway

Does anyone know the steps to get from purple brick not on wifi, back to normal, or at least QR code?

Or, does Netgear need to do something on their end to fix this?

      Please share!

While I wait I will be trying multiple combinations of actions to attempt a fix.

        BINGO!!!

Back to normal and displaying my stuff.

Reminder, I have a canvas (one) and iphone running iOS 14something.  My canvas was stuck on the Purple screen that says just download the app, use some gestures, and all will be fixed.

Except, it does not recognize gestures.

It also shows a wifi network in the upper right corner.

        Here is what I did.

Step 1: Get a friend to help you, because you don't want to drop this thing trying to fix it.

Step 2: Turn your canvas around and have someone snap a picture of the Product Key label.

Step 3: Go to the app and click on the far right button on the bottom of the screen.  It may or may not say "Canvas" and has a small icon of a canvas.  if you already had the canvas working on your app, it will jump you right to the controls for that canvas, and attempt to connect.  Ignore all that and tap on the "Canvasses" word on the upper left corner.

Step 4: This should show your canvas in a box (or not if you never got it associated to your app), and a button at the bottom called "Add Canvas"  Tap that button.

Step 5: The app may or may not show a "Setup your Canvas" screen, if so, tap the "Get Started" button.

Step 6: It will now access your camera and have a box in the middle to read the QR code on a new canvas.  (Enable access for the app to your camera if you havn't already) Since your purple screened canvas refuses to show this QR code again (or at least mine did) tap on the "Don't see a QR code?" message showing in the white box on the bottom of the app in the smallest font known to man.

Step 5: Type in the product key.  It will show instructions from here.  You will need to change your wifi network on your phone to the one shown on your canvass.  As soon as you do, the app will display the wifi networks your phone knows and prompt you to select one.  Then it will update the canvas, and if necessary download all your playlists again.

Note: This process worked for me after several attempts to factory reset the canvas.  If you did not do this, I am not sure your canvas will respond the very same way.
