Open sourcing or allow hdmi, USB, cast, ... ?

Hello

 

I'm using the Canvas for a couple of weeks, and think the current implementation is still quite buggy, limited ;(

There are some tweaks still requiring the Netgear cloud, and I'm afraid that will eventually stop.

 

Would it be possible for netgeear to investigate the option to opensource the OS to allow others to develop on it, without Netgear's cloud?

Allow HDMI e.g. Google chromes cast , or add casting and other standard featurs in it ?

 

That would make the HW much more appealing , enabling Integration with other ecosystems.

    I think Canvas development has stopped with meural. https://www.channelnews.com.au/exclusivenetgear-kills-off-meural-canvas/

    While it'd be great if they opened it up for developers, I doubt they will as it was a proprietary OS that was on meural

    Hi plemans,

     

    I didn't see the news before buying it :( , so even more the request to open source or allow other options, would save the HW and prevent users of being cut off due to Netgear stopping cloud, ... :(
