The same thing started happening to my meural 3 days ago. 3 pictures in a 10 picture playlist started displaying as black. Prior to this, the playlist had been displaying correctly for two months. So I decided to create a new playlist, and 4 of the 7 pictures display as black. All pictures in the mentioned play lists are horizontal orientation. After reading this thread I checked my software version and saw that I was not on the most recent version so I updated to 2.0.8 and the problem persists.
