Is this a wifi connection to the printer?
The usual way to fix wifi printers is to find the printer maker's utility, the software that runs on your operating system. Then use that to connect the printer to the wifi.
This is for HP printers.

Brother stuff seems to be less helpful on that front. But those links may offer some clues.
The router just broadcasts wifi. It is then down to the printer to play ball. There isn't much that you can do on a router, beyond fixing it to a particular IP address, that affects what the printer gets up to.
Where possible, using the WPS feature can simplify things.

Found this after digging around on Brother's site.
I have used the Brother set up utility, temporarily connecting via USB cable & it finds my network immediately & says its connected & to disconnect the USB cable, but the next step, it suddenly cannot find my network! I may try setting up a 2.4 GHz network for it alone, but if all else fails, I guess I could run an Ethernet cable around the outside of the room!
If you experience repeated offline or lost connection issues with your Brother machine, the mesh network’s name (SSID) must be separated into different bands and the Brother machine must be connected to the 2.4 GHz network.
Not all mesh network configurations allow for separating the network name (SSID). Please check with your device manufacturer for specifications and instructions.
EERO Mesh Network Users: We have found a link between EERO routers and Brother devices, which may cause frequent wireless disconnection. Our technical support team has thoroughly researched the situation and found that due to the specifications of EERO routers, we do not have the ability to stabilize their wireless connection with the Brother device. For a better overall network connection, we recommend using your Brother device with an Ethernet cable connected to your router, if supported by your machine's specifications. You may also use a USB cable connected directly to your computer. Brother cannot offer any further assistance with this issue while using an EERO router.

Sounds like this is a printer issue here. Be sure the printers FW is up to date as well. Keep with checking the printers support site for help and information regarding there product.
Mark your post as solved when you get a chance so others will know.
Good Luck.

From the message traffic on this community, the trouble that people have with Brother printers is a good recommendation for HP, Canon and other brands.
I've been a Canon ever since I went round the factory that made its printers, and talked to the guy who invented the bubblejet technology. I have had very few problems, but HP actually seems to be easier to use than Canon. Brother, on the other hand seems determined to tie users up in knots.
For many peripherals, there are just too many for Netgear to keep track of them all. But there aren't that many printer brands, and enough problems turn up here to suggest that guidance might be useful. Could even sell a few more routers.

I've never had bad luck with Brother, until I upgraded my WLAN to this Nighthawk mesh system.
I am only interested in a BW laser printer/multi function device - can you recommend a Canon one that is verified to work with this & is reasonably priced?
Also, if I isolate the printer to the 2.4 GHZ network, will laptops have to be on that specific one or will 5 & 2.4 'talk to each other'?

My experience is that once a device is set up to connect to a wifi network, it doesn't matter which band other connected devices use, 2.4 or 5 GHz.
Like many printers, my Canon can works only on 2.4 GHz. If a PC or something else connects to the same network (SSID) at 5 GHz it happily prints to the printer on 2.4 GHz.
