Can't get internet connection (MR60 mesh router and CM2050V cable modem)
This is really weird. We have Comcast with the CM2050V cable modem. Connected to that is the MR60 mesh router. The the mesh router is all the connected devices. This has been working for years.
Until a power outage a few days ago.
The cable modem seems to be working. If I connect my laptop directly to it. I get a 75.x.x.x address and I have a working internet connection.
The mesh router seems to be working. I can connect to it and things like printing over the local network are fine.
BUT, the MR60 router doesn't seem to get connected to the internet through the cable modem. Why can my laptop do that directly, but the MR60 won't. It won't get a DHCP address...
Also weird, with laptop connected to the MR60 via ethernet (not by wifi) it seems to connected a little bit in that I can get email from POP, though the latop says no internet connection. So, is it partly working in small bursts?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Try this.
Factory reset the MR60. Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.
After it resets, don't reinstall it. Power it back off.
Power off the modem as well and disconnect everything from both devices (even coax from the modem).
Wait 2-5 minutes.
then connect the coax back to the modem and power it on.
Give it a couple minutes to fully boot.
Then connect the modem to the MR60 and power the MR60 on.
Give it a couple minutes and then attempt setup on it.
try that first as sometimes it takes that IP getting released by the ISP as well as something could be corrupt in the settings after a storm. If that doesn't work, Try reinstalling the firmware to the router and re-running the process above. It could be corrupt firmware and not just a bad setting.

Thank you!
I decided to take it in a smaller step and unplug both routers while out walking the dogs so there would be enough time. That worked!
I spent so much time trying different things, but that was so simple and effective.
I can't thank you enough after days of frustration.

glad you got it working!
You might mark it solved so others aren't still trying to fix it 🙂
