Connection issues with Mesh M62 and Epson 3830

Hello:

I have previously posted regarding my issues connecting my Epson ET-3830. You can look up that thread for the whole story. I wanted to just append a note to the end of that thread, but seemed to have trouble doing this - so I have created this new discussion.

There were a number of possible solutions for this issue, and when I wrote the thread I said that making the SSID hidden was what finally resolved my issue.

I want to add a postscript - In the end, it seems that making the SSID hidden didn't really have an impact on my issue. The thing that really resolved the issue was setting the 2.4 Ghz signal to have a "Short Preamble". I now believe that enabling the "short preamble" setting was what *actually* resolved my connection issues with ET-3830.

Just wanted to post this in case it might help someone else.

Cheers!

Fred

  • Meaning switching from the default long preamble to the short setting fixed it?

I'd always heard older devices might need the long value, so it's worse performance (wastes bits) but more compatible.

  • Using the “Short” preamble seemed to fix it for me. YMMV

I am not a tech, though so I do not know about the reasons… 😉

    Cheers!
