Did a firmware update through the nighthawk app and now have no internet
Same problem - did a firmware update through the nighthawk app and now have no internet connection. I can see the network on my phone and laptop, the nighthawk app recognizes the router, no internet ...

This has been a bear but I think I have it figured out. Got a usb-c to ethernet dongle so I could use my laptop and upload the firmware the correct way as linked above. At first, nothing changed and I was still having issues with no connection to the internet. After a couple hours of factory resets and making sure the firmware uploaded correctly, I did some research in this community and found more information from someone who was having similar issues. He set the IPv6 to Pass Through and it solved his problem. While that didn't work for me, I set mine to Auto Detect and this did the trick. It was on "Disabled" by default. Not sure why the default for IPv6 is set to disabled but setting mine to Auto Detect has solved the problem for me.
Thank you for your help!

Seen problems of the NH app not correctly updating both MS and MR or doing the update incorrectly causing problems. Why it's recommended to update manually using a wired PC and web browser and loading the FW files.
It is expected that when you make changes on the MR, that there will be a temporarly loss of internet services as the MR has to make changes and or reboot which would cause this tempoary disconnect. After the MR is back to ready, there should be internet service access.
Shouldn't need to reboot the modem however might be good to try this now and see. MIght factory reset and setup from scratch as well.

So it sounds like I need to be hard wired to do this firmware update. Let me work on that and I'll get back to you.

Does your ISP support native IPv6 by chance? Just wondering.
Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Enjoy. 📡- adrnln8Jan 09, 2023AspirantYes, my ISP Comcast/Xfinity does support IPv6.
Thanks again.
