realtek was horrible with updating their drivers for supporting the newer class devices. Intel had issues with it too but issued updates. Realtek didn't. Nice thing is, its probably a pretty easy card to upgrade to a better one. Or pickup a USB adapter to use. Because none of the newer wireless standards will work with the realtek
Adding something to the network is preferable to adding an adaptor to the laptop.
I currently use wired connection via a hub although I have an extra older wireless router in the house (weak signal and slow) and a usb wifi adaptor (inconvenient) available.
The EX6150 from netgear can connect with RTL8188CE when extending the MK62 network. Can someone explain the difference between MK62 and EX6150 when working with RTL8188CE? Is there something that can be done on the newer gears alone (they are expected to be responsible for backward compatibility, isn't it)?
MK system= wireless AX
EX extender= Wireless AC
Its a generation difference. As explained, not all devices made the switch from AC to AX successfully without a driver update. and realtek was horrible at updating drivers.
so you can swap out the card, use a USB adapter, or use the extender/old router in conjunction with the new. Its the problem with technology advancing.
