MR60 Mesh and AP mode

I should also note that the main MR60 is plugged into the host router, and the satelites are connecting wirelesses via the mesh to the MR60.
Yes, the MS should work with the MR while in AP mode.
Did you have the MR in AP mode while connected to the R7000?

That I do now know. I dont think so. However the R7000 also defaults to ip range 10.0.0.1/255 when there is a provider with the 192.0 range as well so maybe that is why it worked. I would have thought that it would have duplicate ips though from 2 different dhcp servers 1 on the MR and 1 on the R7000.

I would configured the MR and MS in router mode first. To be sure the MS are connected to the MR while in router mode.

Ok, what I would do first is set the Nokia router Default DHCP IP address range to 192.168.1.100 to .200.
Then setup the MR and MS after they are fully connected with the MR in router mode, configure AP mode. Configure a static IP address setup on the MR for AP Mode as linked in previous post in a PDF file.
Configure the MR static IP address of 192.168.1.60. This will be outside of the Nokias new default DHCP IP address pool and is fine. Subnet mask to be same as Nokias, should be 255.255.255.0 and the gateway should be 192.168.1.1 which is the Nokias IP address. DNS you can use same 192.168.1.1 or use custome DNS for the MR in AP Mode. I like to use quad9. When you get the setting configured on the MR for AP mode, apply the setting and then you can connec the MR to the Nokia router using the WAN port on the MR to the LAN port on the Nokia router. As the MR reboots give it a minute or two and should see BLUE front LED. MS should reboot as well and get a IP address automatically thru the MR from the Nokia router. Give it a few minutes. I'd have the MS near or in same room with the MR while you do this configuration. Follow the PDF file I linked for recommended AP mode configuration.

Ok thanks I will do that and see how it goes. Good idea with the static ip address, that way when it goes into ap mode I can still access it. 🙂
