sorry for the confusion. basically we lost power last night and when everything was finally restored I noticed that the wifi on my phone was not connected, so I went into my setting and selected my netgear WIFI which was setup for auto-connect. My S20 can not connect to the network, but when I check the nighthawk app I can connect to the router and test the speed so I am a bit perplexed how that is happening. all of the other devices in the house are connected to the mesh system and are working properly its just my phone so I just don't know how to rectify this because when I try to connect to the network it just spins and then says cant obtain IP address. I have forgotten the network and tried to re-enter the password which has worked in the past, but as of this morning I still can not connect with my older android. does this help at all ?

Me too.
Does the Nighthawk App show the router as on Anywhere Access or Local Connection?

You should also see the option to use local access. This is for my slightly more complicated setup.
With Anywhere Access you are connecting to MyNetgear using the Cloud service. In other words, you are not connecting to the local WiFi option.
This could explain why you can do things like run the speed test with that connection. You don't have to be connected to the local WiFi to make that happen.
If you don't see Local Connection Available you aren't on the local WiFi.
In Anywhere Access you can see the WiFi settings here:
- Settings
- WiFi Settings
- WiFi Network
Check that everything there is as expected.
You may have to remove and reinstall the NightHawk App.
