MR70/MS70, no wired backhaul?

#1 and #2: network switch is a Netgear GS116v2 16 port 1gbps smart switch. Loop prevention was already disabled. Looked into that already.
#3: my router is already 2,5gbps. When I buy a 2,5gbps switch and the MR70 is between the router and switch the MR will bottleneck it at 1gbps.

GS116Ev2 in this case - the GS116v2 is an unmanaged model with no way to disable the loop prevention.
#3: my router is already 2,5gbps. When I buy a 2,5gbps switch and the MR70 is between the router and switch the MR will bottleneck it at 1gbps.
Each MR70 and MS70 will be a bottleneck if operated on Ethernet due to their 1 GbE ports.
Important details - yes, the GS116Ev2 :) And yes, the MR70 will be a bottleneck between WAN and wireless connection due to 1gbit ports. But in the suggested (necessary) installation method the MR would also be a bottleneck for wired connections. So plan is now to put the LAN side of the MR in a seperate VLAN together with the satellite. Will take some time though, Iḿ familiar with the theory but not practice and don´t want to shutdown internet for everyone in the house ;)
So you have a GS116Ev2? If so, then this is considered a Smart managed switch. Not an actual unmanaged switch. These smart or managed switches have known issues with MESH systems, especially in between the MR and MS while in AP mode. The GS switch I used yesterday is not a smart or managed switch thus saw no issues with it in between the MR and MS.
You said this configuration worked for the MR and MS: router -> main 16p switch -> WAN port - MR <- LAN port <- MS satellite.
However, you said that this configuration failed? router -> main 16p switch -> WAN port - MR <- LAN port <- 5p switch <- MS satellite.
Could it be this 5port switch in between the MR and MS causing problems here?What brand and model# is this 5 port switch?

So time to fire-up the UniFi Network Console application. Some Internet ressources claim the Loop Protection and/or RSTP might be enabled by default - for that switch, or for the complete scope, the UniFi Zone-Based Firewall...
Ya, this switch maybe smart/managed as well which if so, would be a cause of the problem with it in between the MR and MS which seems to be failing here.
See if you can make any adjustments to this switch.
If not, or nothing changes the issue, since the connection rate in between the MR and MS is only 1Gb, find you a native non managed switch, the the one I used, GS105 0r GS108, GS305 or GS308 will work too. There cheap these days and should be easy to find you something to use there. I'd put the ubiquity switch upstream, after the host router would be best.
