I have seen that sort of behaviour associated with plugging a router into a modem/router. The two devices can argue over which should be in charge.
The freaky thing is that they can play nicely for months until something puts a spanner in the works.
Two routers on your network can cause headaches. For example, you can end up with local address problems. Among other things, the other router can misdirect addresses that the Netgear router usually handles, such as routerlogin.net or the usual IP address for a router, 192.168.1.1.
This explains some of the other drawbacks.

Unless you have specific reasons for using two routers – to create two separate networks for example – it is often easier to use just one router and then to set up the second router as a wifi access point. Netgear advises this, as does just about every site you will visit.
It may be possible to put the modem/router into modem only (bridge) mode and then to use the second device as the router. Sometimes it is easier to put the second router into AP mode. But that has its own drawbacks:

- PartyfaulJul 26, 2023AspirantMy setup is a bit strange, hopefully I'm explaining this right. I live in a rural area. Our local ISP uses a dish system, micro dotting? Or micro dishes? Maybe... dish on the house has power to it and a small box in the house my lan cable comes off of. Its not really a modem exactly, just internet piped in the house.
Either way it's worked since February just fine. And now all of a sudden not (like you stated above)
If I unplug the mr60 unit and let it set for a few hours plug it back in, it works fine for several hours, then its back to the boot loop scenario.

They can be hard to diagnose, but not something that should create the symptoms you see, especially in a system that has worked as expected for some time.
Have you tried messing around in the router's logs?
View and manage logs of router activity in the manual.
