1. what ax3000 device do you have? That's a speed, not a model number
2. what modem/gateway from centurylink are you replacing?
3. did you contact centurylink since they might have their own login info you need to enter into the router?
4. Is it fibre? DSL? what's your service?

I'm not sure if you're fully aware of what they have setup.
Reason I say this is DSL doesn't support 1 gig speeds.
So you must have fibre. does that fibre come into an ONT? or what is it connected to?
Centurylink is great at requiring their own gateway.
What I see a lot of people do is use their gateway, disable its wifi, and then put the netgears IP address into the centurylink's DMZ.

I have no clue what your talking about now as I obviously have no clue what they did. But I was able to finally get into my century link account and found I am receiving 940 MBPS.
I do know My Century link modem is connected via Cat5 coming out of my kitchen wall.
I talked to a coworker about this and he said he was able to turn off the wifi on his century link modem and placed the Netgears IP into the century link.
The whole goal is to stop paying the $15 a month for a rental modem especially since I have done this for 2 years and more and could have bought a really good modem at this point.
