Nighthawk Mesh router waterproof
Just gonna say the nighthawk mesh system Wi-Fi router is pretty tough. I think I have the r90 maybe 60.
Anyways, I wanted a new one so I planned to break mine so my dad would buy a new one and I could upgrade to the orbi. Unfortunately being dunked in a sink full of water while plugged in did absolutely nothing and it even continued to function giving Wi-Fi the entire time. I think my ping rate actually went down to 0 afterwards while drying out. There was a slightly lower speed but back to normal and still functioning perfectly 4 days post water dunk. Ping rate is normal again. The speed drop could of been the water but I think it’s hard to tell it was so slight. None the less I still want a faster mesh system. I use the Ethernet to connect router to satellites over 5e and a 20 year old 100mb per second switch that is between router and satellites. I think the cord to modem to router and router to switch are both 6 or 7 gigabit cables. Wi-Fi generally maxes out around 300 and average is prob 160-240mbs. Well hell I just tested and I’m at 80mbps download and 20 upload. I gotta get these 5e cables in the wall swapped out. Not to mention I live in a neighborhood with a bunch of doctors and government contractor business owners with more money than they know what to do with. Only 90 houses so everyone knows each other by name. Neighbor across street makes unmanned drones for the army. Anyways I swear two neighborhoods have an outdoor directional router for an airfield. It’s signal is crazy strong and I can pick it up three miles away in certain locations in town while shopping. Mainly just one area it points down from our mountain towards a local shopping area. We are the only neighborhood on mountain and only one entrance and exit so there’s no through traffic. If you are up here you live here. Point being a lot of excess noise and overlapping Wi-Fi systems despite their being plenty of room. My next door neighbor literally has a closet full of nothing but routers and modems where he needs to download large files of radiology scans from his practice. But the large files keep getting truncated or don’t download fast enough. I think we need to just hire professionals instead of everyone just throwing money at new products.

Can you confirm which NG model you have? MR##?
I would get the LAN switch changed up to a non managed Gb supporting switch. NG GS-105/108v4 and GS308v3, D-Link DGS-105/108 and HP ProCurve 1400/1800 series switches work for NH MESH and Orbi systems.
