I could not find any solution, I tried many things, but I ended up having to purchase a new one. I believe this was hardware issue instead of a software one. I'm almost certain the satellite bricked after a sudden loss of power.

Thank you for the reply - yes, I also bought a new (actually refurbished) satellite and added that - now I have the other problem that there is no way to remove the dead-satellite from the system so I have to live with a red / disconnected satellite in the network map and constantly see 4/5 satellites connected rather than 4/4

Can try removing the disconnected MS from the MRs web page using a web browser...
