Turning my old router into an Ethernet switch

Hello. I recently upgraded my internet to the Nighthawk AX3000 mesh system. However, I still want to use my old router (Netgear r3600v2) as an Ethernet switch. Not as a wifi repeater or as a wireless access point, just as an Ethernet switch. How do I go about this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Put it into AP mode and turn off the wifi?

Or just sell it and pick up a cheap gigabit switch. they can usually be picked up for under $20 and then don't needlessly complicate the network.

How much would you get for a r3600v2?

Actually, that doesn't exist, but a switch would certainly be a better bet.
