Storms are great at killing electronic kit.
Did your rescue attempts include this:
It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.

Hi again. I tried again just now but unfortunately the router name is still not appearing in the wifi list. Only the guest version. I've also tried pressing the reset button but that also has not helped.
Is there anything else I can try?

Last resort that you can try is a 30-30-30 reset on the MR to see if this might bring back the main wifi signal. If this fails, then you'll need to get in contact with NG support to see if you have any RMA options.
There are used MK60 series on amazon for fairly cheap if that's an option to look at if there is no RMA option for you.

The router name is not what I would expect to see in the list if SSIDs for a router after a reset. (You say you have done that.)
A reset puts the SSID back to the default settings, which is the SSID shown on the router's label.
On my MR90, for example, it says NETGEAR50 for the SSID.
Do you see something like that? Is that what you mean by "router name"?
There is just the one SSID, no "guest" network.
Anything else is down to your wifi clients.
As I have already suggested, you would be better to ditch that as a way of checking your router. That rules out any strange things that may be happening on the client device.
