Using MK62 (both router and mesh untis) to extend RAX45

I was gifted a brand new MK62 (2 piece) mesh system, and I am already using and very happy with my (older?) RAX45 (1 piece) router. I was hoping to just put the MK62 router unit into extender mode and making it a 3-piece mesh network? However I was told that this is not as easy as I originally thought? I was going to leave the RAX45 as the driving/primary and somehow make the MK62 satellite a slave to the RAX45 (this was the part I am told might not work?) and then make the MK62 router into ANOTHER satellite extender and maybe even use the ethernet as an output for hard wiring stuff at the opposite end of my house?

Or am I just better mothballing the RAX45 and implementing the MK62 as-is?

Thoughts?

Thanks,

MK systems do not support extender mode. Only main router wifi system mode or AP mode. So you could use the MK system in place of the RAX wifi and disable the RAX wifi radios, or it would replace the RAX router altogether.

Probably. Try it and see. You have nothing to lose.

Well, not quite. If you use the USB port on the RAX45, it isn't there in the MK devices.

In my case, I have an old router in AP mode to support that.
