2.4 Wifi drops intermittently on Nighthawk X4S

Hello, wondering if anyone has the same issue on firmware v1.0.1.56. 2.4ghz signal drops and rejects any connection for 10-15mins before it recovers. 5ghz signal works fine though.   Very annoying ...

Very annoying as all smart home devices are on 2.4ghz signal. Have tried searching and there's articles suggesting downgrading firmware to v1.0.2.52 which I've tried doing but router won't install it saying it's the wrong firmware.
