Best XR500 wifi settings?

I'm looking for the best wifi settings for my XR500 router. I've heard people say not to use smart connect, and I've noticed that some of my devices like my smart tv stay on the 2.4ghz network even though I know it's capable of 5ghz and it's literally directly next to the router so it's not far at all, so I'm not sure what to do here.

I've heard to disable 20/40 Mhz coexistence, but I don't know what it does so I'm not sure if it's worth it.

For 2.4 channel should I leave it on auto or pick a specific one? And obviously 5ghz doesn't have auto, but how should I pick a channel?

And for modes for both 2.4ghz and 5ghz, should I leave them on default, so Up to 800 mbs for 2.4 and Up to 1733 mbs for 5ghz? My internet speeds are only about 230/12 incase that matters.

And is there anything in the advanced wireless settings I should change from the default.

And I know that I primarily made this to ask for wifi settings, but my biggest focus is on gaming and having the lowest ping and I play on ethernet for that, so any other suggestions you can give for that would be appreciated.

Wifi devices pick and choose which frequency to connect too. Yes you can disable Smart Connect or leave it enabled and turn down the power output of the 2.4Ghz radio to a lower setting to see if this helps steer your TV towards 5Ghz. Besure your TVs firmware is updated as well.

Having this enabled allows for older wifi devices that only supported 20Mhz channel width to connect to newer generation routers. You can disable this and set 40Mhz only if you don't have any older wifi devices, say from 10-15 years ago...

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many? Based on who maybe near by, will help you determine channels to manually pick if you want to. Channel 1, 6 or 11 are primary channels users should be using. on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.

YES. IF you don't have any devices that support 1733Mbps you can set a lower speed rate.

Some good advice above, I'd suggest using a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channels for 5GHz and then change to that.
