Configuring Router using Older Router Backup

Switching out routers from a N600 (WNDR3700v3) to a new XR500.  Can the configuration settings backup from the N600 be used to configure the new router for the same port forwarding, passwords, wirele...

I wouldn't try to reuse the configuration settings as the N600 was released in 2011. many changes since then plus the XR500 uses dumaos.  If you could even force it to work it might brick the xr500.  Better to do it manually.

    As above, I would absolutely not recommend doing this. Who knows what kind of issues this could cause. Definitely better to set up from scratch, by the time you got through the initial setup wizard anyway you'd have most of that setup.
