Connecting an AC1200 to an R6700 as an AP

This is lcarr0824 again ... and I forgot to mention that I would like the two AC1200 routers to allow me to connect to the same SSIDs that my R6700 propgates.

I'd recommend going the route of orbi and not trying to rig something up. You might get it working but it could be a constant headache to fight with.
you can set the ssid's the same using the AC1200's but its not a mesh system as nothings controlling it so devices will tend to be sticky.
You'll also gain band steering/single ssid function with orbi.
If you watch amazon, they've been running deals on renewed/refurbished orbi systems.
