Considering NightHawk Pro Gaming xr500
So i am currently on dsl right now in the middle of no where. i get 5mbps and was wondering if a NightHawk Pro Gaming xr500 would help boost my speed at all, and if anyone knows by how much that would be great to.

Router in general do not boost speed. Your ISP will still cap speeds for what you pay for. The XR will only help manage bandwidth between connected devices and getting internet access and sharing of the bandwidth.
do your self a favor and dont buy a NG router, I've got the best gaming and most expencive gaming router they make[ nighthawk xr700] and in a year they have already changed FW 10 times, theres been 1 thing added in the new FW's the rest have been to get the thing to not crash and run right, [ it still dont. lol] one out of two ways the Qos works is by throtling your internet [ lower speeds] for fps's the upload speed is the most important [ IMO] and if you trotle your speed you wont have any left. every thing you do in a game gets to the server from upload speed.
Just be cause your having issues with your router doesn't mean others are or do have issues.
I have not been having problems with my XR700 other than the fact that it's not fully supporing of 1Gb WAN to lan speeds for some reason. QoS is working for me.
This post is in regards to the XR500 and the XR500 is working well for others.

if you tell the truth on these forums the paid shils come out in full force as you can see, flurry dont have BUT this problem. lol if he can slow down long enough to read the upload speed you have he would probly aggree you need that speed. buy the way furry, didnt you just get the xr700 a couple weeks ago. lol I've had mine since it was released. lol
