Ethernet switch causing lag
Since I have installed my switch(GSS116E) I notice my connection is a bit more choppy depending on the device so the PS4pro can get really bad lag and since I mostly play fighting games this is a problem I do have some of the consoles connected directly to my router and those seem to have no issue but that only has 4 ports and in my house we have a lot of devices I actually need to upgrade the switch to one with more ports soon, is there anyway to see if there is indeed lag being cause by the switch also is there a way to fix it?

Very unikely the switch does add reasonable lag. Much more likley there are other devices on the other 14 ports causing traffic...
I'd suggest posting this over in one of the sub-forums for Netgear switches, you should get the assistance needed over there!
