Extremely slow wired download speeds

I recently installed the new router and I am seeing about 900 mbps less on download than my ISP router. how do i fix this?

    What speeds are you expecting to see and what speeds are you actually getting?

    How are you testing your speeds?

    Have you tried a different cable of at least CAT5e or greater from the XR500 to the modem?

    what modem/gateway do you have it connected to?

    What speeds do you pay for? 

    How are you testing speeds? 

    What actual speeds do you get off the xr500?
