Faulty Nighthawk XR700 purchased with 2 years "Out of Warranty" in Australia

Hello,

 

I'm having numerous issues with my XR700 I purchased it from an Australian retailer and intend on getting it replaced under Australian Consumer Law, however, all the documentation on Netgear's website says the device is 'Out of warranty', which goes against ACL, considering the cost and age of the device.

 

I've seen that Netgear's practices in Australia when it comes to warranties have been questionable, so I'd like to know what steps I need to take, I would expect a router of this value to last longer than 2 years and it hasn't met those expectations.

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
