Thanks a lot for the video, that really cleared it up. I do think you have the right idea with what you want to do. I would suggest having the XR700 upstairs and then connecting your devices to that (with a switch if needed) and the extender downstairs. Then you should have good WiFi coverage on both floors. Your idea will definitely work, might be a case of moving the router/extender around to find what provides the best coverage.
