How many wireless devices can connect to the XR450

(This is actually about the XR450; for some reason its missing from the model list)

How many 2.4 and 5.0 wireless devices can I connect at once to the XR450 Router?

I read the NG datasheet- seems to be missing (as this spec is on most datasheets). And I scanned these forums where I found someone says "MANY MANY" is the number, but that's open to various conclusions!

  • Literally thousands, more than any normal household consumer could concievably connect.

So let me get this straight. My newer R8000 supports only 32 + 32 (more like 25 + 25) , but this older router supports "thousands". Doesn't sound right. Also, what is the number? 2048 ?

I'm sure it could handle more than that, perhaps I have overstepped, I don't have the specific number but I can ask if needed. How many devices do you have?

The IP address range will dictate how many devices you can connect to a router. Currently 2 thru .254 is the IP address range on NG routers.:smileywink:

I have had 30 devices connected to my XR450. Also with two EX7700 extenders which work very well with the XR450.

  • Traditional WiFi routers can stream data to only one device in the home at a time.

For older routers maybe. Wifi routers can stream data to multiple devices at the same time now days.
