The DoS entries are quite normal for Netgear routers, it's unlikely they're specifically causing the problem.
Does this mean that writing those entries is unlikely to overload this router's processor?
Disabling the recording of those entries, along with turning off QoS and traffic metering, has been one suggestion for dealing with troublesome routers.

michaelkenward Very unlikely, the router would be dealing with those connections anyway so writing it to the log would be minimal additional processing. Unless it's literally flooding the log constantly all the time then there wouldn't in my opinion be any need to turn off those entries.

Thanks for that.
I assume that QoS and traffic metering aren't quite the same.
