Modem for my XR500 through Spectrum?
Hey everyone,
I recently changed from at&t fiber optics to Spectrum after numerous issues with them.
So I purchased an XR500 because I’m a huge gamer and the geo filter really made me want to try it out. My issue is that I don’t have a modem and the one spectrum provided is a two in one modem/router. What is your guys recommendations for a modem that is compatible with spectrum that I can connect with the XR500, thanks for any help I’m not very tech savvy so any info will help. Thank you!

You'll need to check with spectrum to see what they officially support and see if any of there supported modems can BYOM. Also depends on package, if your on there Fiber plan, they may require use of there HW. Most Fiber plans require specialized ONTs which are usally availalble for retail purchase which most router Mfrs don't produce.
Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem.Try Option #2...
