Multiple games matchmaking "messes up"?

Something to check with the game Mfr and game console Mfr first about. Can be anything on the hosting side.
Does this happen with gaming directly with the ISP modem/ONT with out the router in the mix?
Is the game console ethernet connected or wireless connected to the router? Ethernet is preferred.
Tried a factory reset and setup from scratch on the router?
I can't easily test the situation without the router given other people needing to use the internet for more important stuff inbetween everything but that is something I will have to try on the off chance there's a good time I'm able to do that.
I do always use a wired connection so no wireless while I am gaming.
I have factory reset this router a few times because of other issues in the past, and just from ongoing problem situations I can say I don't think that has solved this particular problem since it has continued to happen over the last two years or so in the meantime unrelated to the other problems I experienced before those factory resets.
