My XR500 LED’s white but no internet connection
I had issues with my geo-filtering so I decided to do a factory reset on my router. Now I can’t get past through the config stage and it won’t detect an active internet connection.
All the options I have requires an active connection, there’s nothing that can be skipped
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.
Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.
Will it be possible to roll back the firmware on this router? i'm on the latest update. I don't get why i need an active connection to set it up. I've seen a lot of reviews and they aren't good at all. Honestly i've tried everything possible known to man.
You don't need an active ISP connect if you want to setup the router OFFLINE from the ISP modem. You can set it up and get it setup, then power OFF the ISP modem and connect the router to the ISP modem. Power ON the ISP modem. Internet LED should turn WHITE, if not, reboot the XR router once.
